Losing many of my formative years to caregiving, watching my father have a lifelong lowered quality of life, and constant doctors’ appointments due to his health crises, became an extremely life-altering experience when it came to doing anything I could to not become (even more) disabled, myself.

Two Pharmacists
I had the privilege of growing up with two well-educated, intelligent parents who were in the medical field. What that meant for me was that I had a very good education (and an interest in learning as much as I could) essentially since birth.
My mom’s fascination towards biochemistry contributed to my fascination of how the body works, and what medicine can affect it.
Meanwhile, my dad’s health issues, starting in my early childhood, taught me how short-term health emergencies can have long-term, sometimes lifelong, effects.
